Aloha

Jeanne Marie is originally from northern Wisconsin and moved to the Big Island of Hawaii in her early twenties.  She made her first trip to Bali, Indonesia soon after... and it was there that her love affair with southeast Asia began.

 

On this very first trip, Jeanne became fascinated with the cultural arts of Indonesia and began to develop a deep appreciation for the quality and craftmanship of the work of local artist.  She was especially drawn to the authentic antiques... as with these special pieces came stories of old and almost forgotten times. 

 

She brought back to Hawaii all she could carry with her on the plane and displayed these treasures in a section of the beauty salon she owned.  It was very well received and word quickly spread through town of the exotic and interesting pieces she had brought back with her.  This allowed her to make several more "buying trips" before deciding to sell her salon and launch Jeanne Marie Imports full time out of a large warehouse space in Kailua-Kona.

 

Jeanne Marie Imports has blossomed into one of the premier antique and fine furnishing showrooms on the Islands.  Jeanne's hand selected pieces have been featured in Architectural Digest, as well as other publications. ​​
